چکیده
Abstract Background To evaluate comparative outcomes of robotic low anterior resection (RTME) and spinal Trans-anal total mesorectal excision (TaTME) in patients with rectal cancer. Methods A systematic online search was conducted using the following databases: PubMed, Scopus, Cochrane database, The Virtual Health Library, Clinical trials.gov Science Direct. Comparative studies comparing RTME versus TaTME for cancer were included. Primary post-operative complications namely, anastomosis leak, SSI, overall rate, Clavien-Dindo rate. Operative time, conversion to open, Intra-operative blood loss, ITU hospital length stay (LOS), complications, oncological outcomes, functional evaluated outcome parameters. Results Twelve a number 3025 divided between Robotic group (n=1881) (n=1144) There significant difference two groups regarding time (P=0.39), open (P=0.29) intra-operative loss (P= 0.62). ≥ 3 rate (P=0.25), leak 0.89), re-operation (P=0.62), re-admission (P=0.92), R0 0.52), LOS 0.63) (P=0.30) showed similar results groups. higher harvested lymph nodes 0.04) completed TME (P=0.05). Wexner LARS scores significantly better compared 0.0009) 0.00001), respectively. Conclusion Compared TaTME, provides complete postoperative

Transanal Total Mesorectal Excision for Rectal Cancer: Perioperative and Oncological Outcomes
Over decades, the total mesorectal excision (TME) has become the standard technique for rectal cancer surgery [1]. Recently, through advances in technology and surgical technique, the TME has been performed by using laparoscopic and robotic techniques rather than an open technique. Recent randomized clinical trials comparing a laparoscopic TME with an open TME have shown better short-term outco...
متن کاملTransanal total mesorectal excision--a systematic review.
INTRODUCTION Total mesorectal excision (TME) is the standard surgical treatment for mid and low rectal cancer. The procedure is performed by open, laparoscopic or robotic approaches. Transanal TME (TaTME) is a new procedure that potentially solves some difficulties in the pelvic part of the dissection. We aimed to evaluate the literature on TaTME. METHODS We performed a systematic search of t...
متن کاملShort and Long-Term Outcomes of Robotic versus Laparoscopic Total Mesorectal Excision for Rectal Cancer
The true benefits of robotic surgery are controversial, and whether robotic total mesorectal excision (R-TME) can be justified as a standard treatment for rectal cancer patients needs to be clarified. This case-matched study aimed to compare the postoperative complications and short- and long-term outcomes of R-TME and laparoscopic TME (L-TME) for rectal cancer.Among 1029 patients, we identifie...
متن کاملTransanal total mesorectal excision in rectal cancer: short-term outcomes in comparison with laparoscopic surgery.
OBJECTIVE The aim of this study was to compare short-term results obtained with transanal total mesorectal excision (TME) and laparoscopic surgery. BACKGROUND Transanal TME appears as an alternative in the treatment of rectal cancer and other rectal disease. Natural orifices transluminal endoscopic surgery using the rectum as access in colorectal surgery is intuitively better suited than othe...
متن کاملTransanal Total Mesorectal Excision
Indications for transanal endoscopic microsurgery (TEM) have evolved since surgery for incipient rectal tumours. The possibility of access via TEM has now been extended to other rectal and pelvic diseases, while standard surgical treatment is performed through the abdomen by laparotomy or laparoscopy. The evolution of laparoscopy has resulted in natural orifice translumenal endoscopic surgery (...
